Preschool Music

The Preschool Music program, for our 3-4 year old graduates and their parents, uses a similar yet wider repertoire of activities, songs and rhymes to the Baby/Toddler Music program aiming to further develop the skills already established. Greater independence is encouraged in the activities, although parents are still very much involved, sitting in the circle and supporting their children. While enrolment preference is given to our Baby/Toddler Music graduates, this is not always a prerequisite to joining us.

Aims of the program include:

• Developing greater independence on the instruments
  
• Encouraging more singing
  
• Introducing more complex musical terms and rhythms
  
• Playing together in a music ‘ensemble’ group
  
• Further differentiating between beat and rhythm
  
• Developing even more the ability to listen carefully and follow instructions
  
• Establishing confidence and a positive approach to learning that will last a lifetime
  
• Developing leadership skills
  
• Helping parents to understand more about the Suzuki approach to instrumental learning
